Probably by specifying a temporary sub directory from which you can move
the unzipped files you want to keep.  tell it to extract to
"c:\temp\oldos\" or something similar

If it is, as it sounds to be, a disk manager/partition device, then it will
wipe the hard drive completely when used and you will need to reinstall
everything.
