I know what edlin is, I used it myself with DOS 3.2 when I got it with my old XT. The thing is, that latly i'm encountering situations when I could really use an automatic text editing tool. Now, as I remember, in Linux and some UNIX systems, there is a tool that is based on the same interface as edlin, that can also accept "scripts" that can tell it what to do and how to edit a certain file automaticly. I think it was Ed, but i'm not sure. So I was hoping that Edlin can accept scripts as well.. sounds like it cant. Is there any small editing tool like edlin, that can do such a function? (the idea is to include this utility in a batch file, or to be called up by another program as a small external utility).
