Someone using your machine as a relay, or malicious worm/trojan/virus
activity is certainly possible.

Less malicious, it could be that one or more of your software progs
is transmitting your info to its maker. This is quite possible with 16
or 32 bit Windows systems. (I use DOS almost exclusively, so it has
never been a problem for me.)

A number of freeware/shareware progs available for download from the
net have turned out to be "spyware". My wife (uses Win 95 exclusively)
has turned up quite a few downloads that have proved to be "spyware" or
"ad-ware". She has now got a spyware detector from somewhere and has
ferreted them all out. There were a surprising number of them.

If anyone needs this program, or where to get it, I can pass the info
on. If I remember correctly, it is a 32 bit Windows program.

Regards,
         Ron
