SHSUCDX is only (the second) half of the rent, you need a driver
installed in config.sys first and in any case (and then, SHSUCDX would
most probaby work indeed, taking about 10K of mem; can highload too).

Now, finding the right driver is a calvarium but there is a good thing
to help, called "CDrom God"; I misplaced the URL but there's a link to
it at "w0rm's" www place, ==> http://w0rm.8m.com (I found it via that
one at the time too). It has a huge number of drivers, and a nifty test
routine to find out the right one.
