get Caldera's DR-DOS 7. the OS includes a
re;placement cd driver which can be renamed as
mscdex.exe in case batch programs or whatever...
drdos also comes with :
? device=c:\dos\mscdex.exe
which means that it will ask during boot if
you want to install it.
it boots off my ide in 22 seconds, so a reboot
to install as needed is no big deal.
drdos also includes hidos and a high dos loader
for device drivers. IIRC, the arachne Mem will
show 604 k
no copywrite; do what you will with it.
