0.7pre-alpha (that was the last release when LSPPP came around) had a few
changes:
10K smaller (still much higher than LSPPP)

And planned was to reduce some more (in the 5-10K range) and to add user
setable FIFO triggers for the com-port (thereby making it faster on slow
machines with fast modems).

Correct. EPPPD 0.6 (and 0.7pre-alpha) are much more stable and offers some
additional things. However most people can't load it high since it uses so
much memory. IMHO LSPPP will be the default choice in a few months when
it has "matured".
