Does it run in hi-mem, between 640 and 1meg? could it not do so just
by changing the segment registers to point to those addresses?
whereas, if it runs from above 1meg, as with ems, dont it havta be
copied into a 'page frame' in conventional ram before being run?
and even though the other ppp drivers can be placed in hi mem, if they
are larger, they may run into room problems there as well, especially
if they are there to run the packets for a GUI browser like Arachne.
I can see the advantage might be trivial if one were only using text
mode to get mail or ftp files. But crunching a collection of .jpgs
on a glitzy page without dropping carrier might be another matter.
