You might point out this link to your local computer service folks.

to this description, you should be able to boot from the hard drive, back
up all the files you wish to keep. Then re-fdisk and re-format the hard
drive, restore your data, and you'll be fine.
An inconvienience, yes, but you shouldn't loose anything that you back up.
Do pay close attention, though, to any .EXE or .COM files you might want
to keep, so that you don't restore something that is infected, and end up
re-infecting yourself. You'll also want to make certain that any of your
boot diskettes are not infected. You may want to get a clean, bootable
DOS diskette from someone else, and keep the disk locked into the 'read-
only' mode.
