Further to my short advantages of Dos 2.11, 3.3,5,6.22,
Win3.10,Wfw3.11,Win95/98/2K,WinMe earlier, there is one very difficult thing which I
must comment upon !
That is the moving of HDD from one PC to another PC to another PC. I have one machine
at home, two in one office and two in another office. I therefore have to carry my HDD
from machine to machine to keep working on the data from ONE single OS. For this I use
Wfw3.11 as this is the ONLY windows program which doesn't mind moving of HDDs from one
machine to another of more or less similar configuration.
This, of course, presupposes that all the machines have VGA monitors, and standard
mouse and keyboards.
I have found moving HDD in a Win9x and subsequent environment is virtually suicidal.
NONE of these LATER/LATEST OS'es allow such movement.
In my 13 years of computer use, I found moving HardCard type of HDD easier than
lugging around a heavy LapTop.
How do you all move from machine to machine which are miles apart ?
What is a better way for working on different machines.
I can't end the msg without making one more comment ! Even Linux doesn't allow
shifting of HDDs ! Nor do most other flavours of Free OS'es ! Dos2.11 thru 6.22
allowed it ! And Wfw3.11 also doen't mind !
