A lot of things seem to work in the movies.  Where did you learn that?

you what happens in real life.  We tried that a couple of times at
the office.  We don't know what happened to the data, but we do know
that it sure did mess up the read/write heads.  Both of the hard drives
were destroyed.  All we wanted to do was to destroy only the data.  We
wanted to reformat and re-use the drives.  This experiment was
conducted by highly experienced government-trained technicians.  Don't
try this at home.
