Sam said in part: "... Why should a student have to waste an entire
semester in learning how to use Micro$oft Word when he can learn Keyword
Pro in a couple of hours, even without a teacher? ..."

Sam:

It is really tough on the upper-management bureaucratic Ph.Ds in the
education system to justify their inflated salaries when you apply logic
that you learned in their fine institutions of higher learning <BG>

Sam I am convinced that the bloat in computer programming complexity is
taking on the same scenario as TV did in the 1950's. Early black & white
comedy was live and had some really funny material. Now the only thing
that comes close is the new Wayne Bradey show which is a take off on the
Flip Wilson Format which was a take off on the Jack Benny and Texaco
show of shows with Uncle Milty formats...

Ya, your correct about the whole education system. It is designed to
produce plumbers who can't figure out how to install a flushing
toilet... Ever talked with a brand new Microsoft Certified Network
Engineer and ask them how to attach a 1985 '386 PC with 2 MB of RAM to
their Windows NT network. That is worth at least a half hour of pure fun
<BG>

ref: using a heavy-duty magnet on a hard drive = DUMB idea which is sure
to cause ya 1000% in grief vs. what you planned to have happen.

There is NO SUBSTITUTE for taking the time to properly install a piece
of software designed to purge that operating system formatting and then
reformat with a new operating system a complete drive full of ones and
zeros. However, if your person who ends up with the 'puter has the time
and tools they can probably get your first generation data off the hard
drive. It is truly amazing what a clean room rescue disk company can do
for big dollars = bring money we find ones and zeros and make them walk
like a duck...
