Using a hammer on a hard drive isn't necessary and can be risky to remaining
hardware. Better yet to remove hard drive from machine and supply the
machine without a hard drive. If people want to hammer on them then,
they're outside of the pc to be donated and endanger nothing. Actually,
doing it this way can provide better proof for the auditors. Just preserve
the part of the broken drive with the drive sticker on it showing the brand
model and serial number of the drive for the audit.
