Having run an old SuSE distro on a 486SX/25 with 4MB of RAM and a 128MB HDD
(with 16MB set aside as swap), I can tell you even the default desktop of
the time (uhm, fvwm2 with GoodStuff running, a clock and a pair of xeyes,
plus two xterms to work in) was painfully slow.

I dropped it for ZipSlack shortly afterwards.  From the CLI, it was rather
nippy -- just waiting for the disk to seek usually.
