It is true there's several eye candy tools in linux that have no text
equivalents.  gnumeric is one of them and many others exist as well.
Unfortunately I am required to use excel at work so if gnumeric had a text
equivalent or a text mode that could be enabled I'd be able to port
workbooks between it and excel if I so chose.  However other eye candy
choices preclude decissions I might have made to use the products.
Fortunately there's oleo and I can probably export and import in dif format.
