Hi Heimo,
Hi Howard,

About "16 Bit Graphic Editors" and "Image Alchemy (alchemy.exe)" of

I used to have the `CompuShow' viewer somewhere but i didn't know a
larger set of utilities should have come with it. I use `QPV/386 v1.7e'
when i need to browse swiftly thru a directory full of graphics as i can
preview the files while browsing; `QuickView Protected Mode v2.47' will
play ~MPEG~ files including sound so i have both of these together. The
`Image Alchemy v1.7' tool turned out to be a nice suggestion as it might
do a fine viewer for `Lynx'. Actually, my .JPG buttons which were quite
ugly as viewed from `LXPic v6.0' were way much nicer with `Image Alchemy
v1.7' and it made me wonder for awhile... I upgraded to `LXPic v7.0' to
discover that its previous version was flawed! 8-o Both of these tools
now display the .JPG the very same way (with dots). I'll try to see how
things have changed, perhaps this is going to tell me why my other PC is
showing the .GIFs just right. I tried to use the .JPG format since it's
no affected because of the palette affair, as far as i can tell, but the
conversion step affects my solid greys for this PC and makes it blurred.
Anyway, thanks for the `Image Alchemy' suggestion: it supports the `HP-
48' graphics conversions and i still had to see that! This tool has the
most extensive set of formats i could think of, from what i can tell!...

I'd recommend `Image Alchemy v1.7' anytime, it's complete and fast!

                                             Salutations, 8-)
