I gather that there would be an option to pick the size of the ramdisk,
based on equipment, and living with what functionality could fit it.

How about executing loadlin.exe using a bootable floppy?   Perhaps
using an autoexec.bat file.   You could pick a compact DOS - say 3.30 -
or a free version.   (Just to aviod Bill's lawyers.  ;-)

Distribute the files appropriately, and include a pause or two to swap
floppies, and you could probably fit everything on even 360 K floppies.
That might be useful on some older systems - although I don't expect to
be running it on my XT.   :-(

If you use less than 1.2 M on each floppy image, it could be written on
either 1.2 or 1.44 M floppies, which might be handy.
