Is it one of >those Dos Protected Mode drivers? Short answer - I never bothered to find out. Longer answer - I was in the process of writing 'C' and ASM when the LIM standards were being misappropriated back and forth. I came to the conclusion that all Intel CPUs are brain-dead and trying to dance around this fact when writing a program was an absurdity. I stopped trying to sort out all the DPMI, DOSGW, XMA, HMA, expanded, extended and all the other nonsense that was/is being fed to all of us. >I thought those were loaded by the program requiring them? None of the programs I have found load these automatically. I have always had to load them within a batch file prior to execution of the program(s). Most common with DOS games wanting more memory. Applications seldom needed them until recently with program bloat. LYNX386, Arachne, and TOFFEE IRC need them here - not any others I can think of? >> >LH SHSUCDX /D:%cdrom% /M:10 >> [...] >> >LH C:\utilitie\DIAMOND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:DMSCD01 /M:12 >> >> >> In this, SHSUCDX and MSCDEX perform the same >> function. After all of the errors, omissions, and whatnot I have been guilty of lately I certainly think you are allowed a few and even a few more if you need them. ;-) As I breathe - Love - Dad To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
