BL1 used pppd 2.2.  BL2 uses pppd 2.3.  There are different
versions of eznet for each.

Just for now, I'd like to lock you in a computer lab with
a copy of BL 2.00.  Have you tried it?  The eznet default
config has changed since BL2-alpha.

Are you the fellow whose ISP has three prompts:  username,
password, service (or something like that)?  Or was that
somebody else?

There may also be a reason why "standard" Linux uses the vi editor,
but don't expect me to replace pico with vi.

Keep in mind that eznet does provide several parameters which
enable you to modify the chat dialog.  Most (all?) of the things
you can do in a chat script can probably be done with eznet, one
way or the other.
