I vaguely remembered that part.  I was referring to dmesg or something
like that which actually creates the 'messages' log.  It's not there
in BasicLinux. It's generally a mistake to assume that what works in
a full install works in BL.  Busybox doesn't have everything in it and
some that are in busybox do not recognize all switch chars. :-)
