Well quite. Netscape doesn't seem to do this, but in other respects is
the only usable mail client I've come across for Linux - which isn't
saying much, and is quite a shock. Vast numbers of mail clients, pretty
much all of them either an apalling user experience (eg: PINE),
completely incomprehensible (eg: Applix, StarOffice) or just plain
incapable (eg: KMail). Netscape is hardly ideal (not being able to
handle more than one POP3 source is a disaster), but it's the best of a
bad bunch. I'm on a large number of high-volume mailing lists and I'm
used to Messenger Pro on RISC OS which does this sort of thing perfectly
and is one of the two reasons why I still use my Acorn when I'm in its
presence (the other being Zap).
