It's some sort of formal membership fee, let's say CHF 30 for 
individuals and CHF 300 for companies. This pays for instance press work 
and expenses of the volounteering 'Vorstand'.

I didn't mean 'Partei'. I tought about some sort of 'Interessenverband', 
similar to 'Bauernverband' or oders (see 
http://dmoz.org/World/Deutsch/Regional/Europa/Schweiz/Wirtschaft/Organisationen_und_Verb%e4nde/
for examples). An association is only involved into a political 
discussion if the topic is affecting them.
