Comment #24 on issue 1262 by [email protected]: fix sympy to work in
python3.0
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1262
@22:
speed, yeah, probably, when I fixed test_ode the time went up by a full
minute (which is how long it takes, a full 10% of the total test time..)
Exceptions, yeah, since then I've fixed some 150 of 'em and am down to 62.
I think there's some more low-hanging fruit out there, but I've encountered
some that expose real issues. I'd appreciate it if I could catch you on IRC
some time to go over some of the errors I got; else I'll just wait for
Ronan (not sure when he's back from his trip, should be soon now).
I'd particularly like to fix the postorder/preorder traversal Exceptions as
they make the error log big and hard to read, but I wouldn't know where to
start. Help appreciated. :)
Assertions, I think most/all of them are from codegen, and that's likely to
be something with the unicode/str changes. Shouldn't be too hard to fix, I
just haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
mpmath, currently I just checkout the directory from git after running 2to3
(thus negating it). I wrote some more thoughts on this on my blog[0], but
in essence, I wanted to do some actual work and I'll try too cook up a
Distribute solution afterward. I'm less and less confident it will be
possible (in a meaningful way), though.

doctests, no, didn't look at them at all. Quick check shows they don't even
run, but it's something with unicode/str again. The converting itself ought
to be fine, as far as I gather it was somewhat broken in 3.1 but should
work now (incidentally, this is one of the things that Distribute works
around)
@23
I'm not sure what this refers to. All the imports work fine now as far as I
can see. I suspect it was something that was current 2 years ago but has
since been dealt with (I think there was some import restructuring by
Ondřej himself in the mean time, I assume to fix just this issue).
