Hi,

I just finished a comercial project with Free Pascal/Lazarus and Synapse
(btw.). If you like to have GUI-Applications, which simply compile unchanged an
both Windows and Linux (and look quite good) give it a try. I also used Free
Pascal to create a service (aka daemon) and was quite overwhelmed how
FreePascal supports all that Linux OS calls.
So after programming since Turbo Pascal 2 (really!!) with the Borland Products,
I changed to FreePascal/Lazarus.

Compared to Delphi the component library is not that big, but I think you'll
get everything you need.

Hi everyone,

With Borland not supporting Kylix anymore: Has anybody tried the Lazarus IDE
as a replacement for the Kylix IDE? Does is compile applications ok. It is
my understanding that the Borland compiler has no issues (well I have never
had any) and it is the IDE that is the issue on various platforms.

Thanks for the inputs and comments!

Keep well :)
