Well... since you're going that way... here are some other "notes:"
(Actually, I don't have my Kylix stuff here right now, and it's been a while
since I've done this, so this is piecemeal at best. But as I'm also
concerned about gathering all the resources to make a new
installation --hard drives and computers have been dying around here...--
I'd enjoy comparing notes...)
There seem to be more resources available since I struggled with it. For
example I just did a Google search for an important term in the process:

recent links that look quite helpful (like:

One of the most important configurations is to use the brilliant ptrace
interposer from ptrace4.tar.gz which makes the debugger work under later
kernels. I don't remember the details, and can't find any notes on these
Windows computers right now, but I had to alter the source file (to resolve
some dependency issue?...) to make it work. I was rather surprised that many
others didn't have to do that, and when I checked again the source file was
still the same as I had originally used... Obviously, it varys <g>... If
you run into a problem with it, I'll find the details.
I also didn't install or perform everything on that "Suse 10" page. For
example, I didn't use Andreas Hausladen's Unofficial VisualCLX patches,
having been "scared off" by messages (at the time) something like "these are
now outdated and inactive..." AND not having been developing many GUI
apps... and not having noticed a need... But that's changing, and I'm not
at all clear on whether it's better to install (ALL!) those patches or
not... Looking now at those pages, it seems as if they've changed
substantially since then... In fact, some of the items look quite promising,
like the FastLinuxRTL unit...
