You know the one thing I've never found?  An easy-to-use cookbook for migrating 
from an NIS environment over to LDAP.

This has been something that's been recommended forever, but there's no easy 
migration path.  Every LDAP document I've seen (especially from Sun, but from 
O'Reilly too) has assumed that you're going to use LDAP for your enterprise 
directory service (storing peoples phone numbers and everything) not for 
something as simple as just Unix authentication.

It really should be easier to go from a redundant NIS environment (multiple 
servers) over to a similarly replicating LDAP system.  Even without adding the 
complexity of Kerberos into the mix.
