At one point the list was more active, but interest in System 6 dropped off during the past few years. I get the impression that the bulk of activity in the old computer collecting community is based upon a certain price point. When a newer model drops below that price point, people get excited about it. As a general rule, those people will continue using it until they (a) get bored with it, or (b) something more exciting drops below that price point.
I was somewhat in that mode until PowerMacs dropped below that price point, at which point I just stopped. PowerMacs don't run System 6 after all. Nor do many run System 7.1 (my current favourite) very well.
I don't subscribe to the theory we all emerged from a rock.
Then you clearly aren't a computer, because silicon does come from rocks. ;)
