To Bob C. and James et al,

Also, one reason why there is almost no chatter within
this group is that we are like the Neanderthals (Hn)
who were slowly excluded from their ancient European
environment by the Cro-Magnons (Hs) with this
noticeable exception. Our environment (I.E. OS 6.0.8
and earlier) is not a dying environment but is
'inhabited ' by a group of diminishing population who
do not seem to be having problems or troubles using OS
6. We are more like the Shakers who died out for want
of reproduction rather than for want of use.

I use OS 6.0.8 on a Mac IIci for my text processing
and spread sheet functions which are handled nicely by
WORD V 4.0 and EXCEL V. 2.2 (a truly ancient version).
I also use OS 7.5.3 and 7.6.1 when I have need to do
so which is rare; these OS versions are the boot OS on
several external drives as is other copies of OS 6.0.8
installed on external SCSI hard drives. What a god
send that has been in being able to back up data and
to restore entire disks when (not if) the need to do
so has occured and will occur.

Mel

PS: If you can read this email I would appreciate some
feed back since the change has occured I am not sure
anymore if anyone can read my posts whereas (QED) I
can read yours.
