The NYC 310-16 network might already be retired. My TMO phone (which has a Voicestream 310-16 SIM) Always indicates Roam (it shows 310-26 as the active network).

It's not impossible, but you would have to set an oplogo for each MNC. In most phones that's not possible as most can only store one oplogo at a time, however in Symbian phones you can have an oplogo for as many MNCs as you have memory to save the actual logo.
