Just wanted to thank you all once again for the comments and let you know how it turned out. I just got off a 45 min call with a very nice man named Ethan at T-Mo customer service who was very willing to help me sort out the bill and make sure I was completely satisfied. It turns out there were a couple fishy things on my bill after all. It turns out that a few text messages apparently made while roaming on another network were counted as several minutes. He was going to give me 25 bonus minutes to compensate, but when I wasn't sure if that was good enough, he gave me the "Well, I'm not supposed to do this, and I'll probably get in trouble for it, but since you've been with us so long, and we want to show you we care, I'll give you 50 bonus minutes, just for you" spiel.
I also asked him to clarify the "Total Zero VM calls" number at the bottom of the bill that one of you had pointed out. He looked at my usage and found that I was billed for about 60 min of voicemail calls. He said it was strange because I was billed for some VM calls, yet not for others. In addition to the "Zero VM calls," I also had "Vm Retrieval (G)" calls throughout the bill. He couldn't provide a concrete answer as to what exactly the Zero VM calls number was at the bottom of the bill or why I was billed for some and not others. He offered to do a one time adjustment for the entire 60 min since he couldn't justify the charges, but what's even more impressive is he promised to thoroughly research the question and leave me a voicemail early next week with a detailed explanation and the total amount that my account would be adjusted for. That's the first time I've ever had a customer service rep willing to follow up with me. I guess J.D. Power and Associates was on to something. ;-) Another thing I asked him about was tweaking my rate plan. As stupid as it may sound to some, I'm very anti contracts. I have been out of contract since my first year at VoiceStream, and although I don't see myself going anywhere else, I refuse to re-sign. I'm on the 600 min / free weekend plan with the $2.99 nights add-on because the free nights plan has always been promo and required a contract renewal. Well, since these new promo plans came out this week, the 600 min N&W plan was no longer listed as promo on the website. If this was the case, I was thinking about getting on that and saving myself the extra 3 bucks a month. Unfortunately, although the site doesn't say promo, this plan is still considered promo by T-Mo and requires a contract renewal. It turns out that ANY plan with included nights is considered promo. He was saying that I could get on a plan without nights w/o contract extension and add the $4.99 nights option, but I think I'll stick with my grandfathered $2.99. Ethan also verified that the 50 loyalty minutes on my plan are good every month (so I get 650 whenever min) unlike bonus minutes which are good until they are used or expire and that calls are indeed billed based on start time. I'm going to have to try and remember to hang up with whoever I'm talking to at 9pm and call them back again. ;-) ~Craig [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
