Hi all,

>How far do you travel to get TW supplies (same town/nearby city/same
>country/internationally)? Approximately how far(distance or time-wise)?

if I'm using cottons I go to either the nearest city (about 1/2 hr) or
nearest town (about 20 min)

>Do you use mail order? (And does this mean by Internet or by phone?)

Yes, for all my silks - so far just by phone.

>DO you make what you need(spinning yarns/making cards, etc.)?

All tablets yes, and then rope hubby into making looms, warping frames for
me. I'm not very good at spinning, so haven't yet managed enough for a
project, however, I do dye most of my silks

>If you don't have a local yarn shop, have you found any other sort of shop
>with supplies)?

I found the best place for a strong linen thread is from a saddler! And I
also have a 'stock' of playing card tablets (cards from the local post
office) when I get the urge to try out something different while I already
have a project on the loom!

>Do you wait till local/regional conferences and buy in bulk there?

No - I'll buy silk in bulk for dyeing, but otherwise I buy for the project.
