Greetings!

I was thinking about this discussion this morning, and had an idea. Since
"missed hole" is already common terminology for both of these very different
structures, what about calling them "warp-patterned missed hole" for the Icelandic 
technique, and "weft-patterned missed hole" for the Crockett
technique.

Those are the most common structures with 3-hole threading, I think, so it would be 
convenient if they had easy-to-remember names.
