Hi again everyone.
Thanks for all the help you gave me when I first
joined the list some weeks ago. It was all much appreciated. I tried
making my cards (tablets) from hardboard, but as some of you advised me at the
time, they were much too heavy and bulky, and my first attempt failed
miserably. Not wishing to admit defeat, I made a new set from a pack of playing
cards, and tried the chevron pattern described in Phiala's Tablet Weaving
Theory. Although I thought I had followed her instructions to the letter,
the pattern is turning out so that the non-jagged diagonal lines of the chevrons
are on the reverse of the weave. The only thing I can think that I have
done wrong is to get the S and Z warping the wrong way around. Would this
cause the correct pattern to come out on the reverse of the weave? I can't
think what else it could be. I have a picture of my attempt, but I don't
think I'm allowed to include it with this message.
Perhaps someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong,
and how to post pictures to the list if this is possible.
Best regards,
Mike (from Wales, UK)
