I do exactly what you do! :)

"Me too" responses aren't usually all that helpful, but in this
case I think it is. My reasons are also very similar to yours -
I'd rather give people something they can play with, and
do different things depending on how quickly they "get it".
And, as you say, diamonds and stuff aren't necessarily
simple for the novice.
