Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

I took a tablet weaving class at an SCA event.
unfortuanly I don't remember much of what went on,
besides getting frustrated with inferior cards and the
long threading process. The cards were cheap
cardboard, like what a cereal box is made out of,
drilled as a pack. there were "burrs" from the
drilling. (I ended up hopelessly tangling the first
weaving and throwing it away, bying comercially
available cards. My first real weaving, that I
finished, was a 1 dark, 3 white pattern done in
cheverons that I finally tensioned on an inkle loom.
(that hooked me, seeing the stripes "magically" appear
was adicting. I started researching, on the web and in
the library.

So...youall are on the right track to "hook" someone
with weaving.
1) show the quick 10 minute warping techniches. (and
the switching of the threads in the two edge cards to
get a all dark card and an all light card to make a
border)
2) show either pictures, or an example of warp
tensioning besides body tensioning, such as inkle loom
setup, or the "tipped over chair on a table" type
loom, For anywone that is "sports clumbsy" body
tensioning the loom may end up to be a nightmare to
them. (it was for me untill I put my work on an inkle
loom)
3) bring lots of pretty "spectacualr" band examples...
seeing the different bands on the weaver's hand
website (and gutrums's) inspired me to keep weaving.
