Reading back over this, I realize I wasn't clear on
the warp: it's half black, half white in the sense
that each tablet is threaded with the two threads
closest to the weaver (AD, I think) being white and
the two furthest from the weaver being black (BC).  I
use cheap crochet cotton.  I thread them all one
direction; it's easy enough to flip them around later
for special effects.  I don't start out with
warp-twined borders, although I do explain them and
show how that works.  I figure one pack going one
direction is plenty for the first few minutes!
