I think that K1000 is the best of the blindness oriented OCR programs because the same people have been developing the product for about 20 years. When FS bought out Arkenstone, the Arkenstone staff did not go to FS and new people were brought in. Open Book is only one of the products sold by FS, and its priority has slipped, if it ever was a high priority to begin with. Except for JAWS, FS is gradually moving more and more into the low vision market.

FineReader is the best off the shelf OCR that works with WE. OpenBook cost around $1000 and FineReader is about $130. Omni Page is about $40 at Amazon but I don't think it is as accessible as FineReader. ----- Original Message ----- From: "K4NKZ JIM via Talk" <[email protected]> To: "talk wineyes" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2015 1:32 PM Subject: question which OCR program workds best with window-eyes > 1, Ommi Page 19 > 2, OmniPage Pro version18 > 3, openbook 9.0 > thanks for any and all help! > > > -- > Have a nice day from, K4NKZ Jim > > _______________________________________________ > Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the > author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. > > For membership options, visit > http://lists.window-eyes.com/options.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com/loyrg2845% 40gmail.com. > For subscription options, visit > http://lists.window-eyes.com/listinfo.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com > List archives can be found at > http://lists.window-eyes.com/private.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
