You can not use Window Eyes with it. Only advantage to using Open Book is in my opinion a better user interface versus off the shelf OCR programs. I have encouraged GW over the years to produce a App which wo... Excuse me, but I really have to take this opportunity to ask the following. Does Omnipage, or any of the other recommended OCR programs happen to have automatic or optional orientation settings like OB has had for years? I really would like to have a good reason to dispense with the present version of OB 8 I happen to have lying around waiting to be installed on my new Windows 8.1 computer. I really would like to be able to continue to scan with the book in the up side down position, because I simply find it much easier to scan with the book more toward the frunt of the scanner instead of way in the back. It is jus so much easier for me to keep it lined up well in that position Any other new conveniences/options in these commercial versions I should know about.
