For me the f8 hot key for selecting text is a little cumbersome so I
simply changed the hot key to be shift down arrow. Other than that
small change I find it works great.

I think it's all about what people are used to using, it's what people
know and have been doing for years. Then you have this new method and
it just feels clumsy. I'm sure it works great, but it's just not, you
know, stable for me. It would be great if we had a choice of which
selection method we could use. Maybe that can happen in a future
release. I'd like that. I'm not sure if it'd be possible but it'd be
nice.
