Hey, Carol. I haven't messed with T-bird, but maybe what you're hearing is
the title bar of the window being spoken, or, maybe WE is seeing the message
window as a message window it must speak or a dialog. Try changing one or
more of the settings in the verbosity> common> activated properties page.

Hi Tom,

I made sure everything was set to program and turned everything off 
except for speak first 24 lines.  I don't hear the number of things now, 
but I do still hear the first line repeated in Thunderbird.  I cleared 
the settings for both of the new page categories.  Do you have any more 
suggestions?
