Hmm, Paulette, VoiceOver on the iPhone, TalkBack on Android, will soon render screen readers worthless in my view. Pretty soon, computers may even go away except in government offices where nothing ever changes!

Indeed, it's a bitter pill for me to swallow! The death of Window-Eyes may mean that I'd become jobless. Jaws HAS NEVER worked with my set up here and for this long, Window-Eyes has kept me at my desk where I make the pennies that pay the bills and put fruits and veggies on my wee, small table. I better jealously GUARD my old copies of Window-Eyes because if my computer crashes, and I need to perform a reinstall, I may not be able to download one sometime soon from any source.

My SMA expired sometime back; I'd been thinking long and hard about buying another SMA. But now, I am confused with the hope that my confusion will somehow be sorted out though I'm not so sure it will ever be done satisfactorily.

When businesses pander to venture capitalists, this is what happens! Perhaps GW Micro could have raised enough funds to STAY AWAKE if it had opted to sell stocks in the open market to source funds for continuous development. This never happens in the adaptive technology industry. Constant argument? It's a small niche market of blind folks! I'm still blind, yet I own a small piece of Avis Rent-A-Car because I purchased its stocks. I shall certainly have done the same if GW micro had issued an IPO. I hope the future for blind folks who come after me will be a brilliant one and they won't have to worry about being let down by screen reader developers.

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado
