screen reader is useless without interaction with an operating system
and third party software - but if development of window-eyes ceases,
the rest of software world still marches on. And: there are long
standing bugs which now fall into legacy problems. And: VFO and the
old GW Micro are organisationally very different in character.
AiSquared' CEO is (or was) head of software development within VFO.
Because AI Squared was starting to bring some momentum back to
Window-Eyes, and had produced Fusion, I think he is well placed to
give us some official goss.

I recently enquired about purchasing an SMA for W.E. At this time
they are still selling them. I don't believe they could or would
sell something if the product was no longer going to be supported.
All of this speculation is doing nothing but taking the discussion
away from where it should be, discussing the actual functionality of
W.E. So I say lets continue to use the product for as long as it's
being produced as well as supported and if or when we have to cross a
bridge of changing screen readers then perhaps we can pick up this

When the founders and main staff of an organization leave, the
business dies a quick death. There is absolutely no reason why f v o
needs to or wants to support a product that is given away for free.
I recommend all of us check out the Narrator on Windows 10 and NVDA
as an alternative screen reader for the future.
