I use a program called Gold Wave. I bring each WAV file into Gold Wqave, and re-Save it, this time as an MP3 file, with the attributes desired.
If I have Stripped all the tracks off a CD, and want to blend or merge these tracks together, I use Gold Wave to Merge these tracks into one larger MP3 file. I use Media Player to play files, but I've never used it to strip or convert files. I've never found Media Player to be all that easy to use with a Screen Reader. The above is a general account of what I do with files ripped from a CED. If you need more detail, let me know, and I'll give more step by step instructions.
