I have also had pretty good luck with Windows Media Player, although I would agree with Dave that it isn't always obvious what one should be doing with that software. I wanted to mention, though, that if one is going to rip a number of CD's, there is a check box that will cause CD's to be ripped automatically and converted into the format that is chosen. Also, if you are focused on the Now Playing window, and you can get there with CONTROL 3, there is a "Rip" button there as well.
Of course, this is not meant to imply that there is anything wrong with bringing files into Gold Wave or other editor, I have just found Windows Media Player to work well once I figured out what to do. Before ripping the cd onto your hard drive, while in Media Player, press Alt-T for tools, O for options. Shift tab to the tab controls and right arrow to the rip tab control. Now tab to the format combo box and select MP three. Tab to OK and press Enter. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Kim Lingo via Talk Sent: Sunday, December 25, 2016 10:39 PM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: converting files from a CD to mp3 using the Windows Media Player withWindows 7 I've been trying to convert a CD to mp3 format using Windows media player that comes with Windows 7. I'm finding it a good bit more difficult than it was with XP. Does anyone have any ideas?
