Not completely correct: you are accurate in that by default, contracted
braille is the default translation, but you can set things so as to
input and output in uncontracted Braille. Or - as I do - input in
uncontracted and see output in contracted.
Braille on an Apple device for me is essential. But if people do not
like touch screens, and do not use braille, there are numerous Bluetooth
keyboards which solve this problem.

From what people have posted on various lists that I belong to, I
understand that using braille on an Apple device would be a challenge.
This is because everything is translated into grade 2 instantly so if
you don't write fast enough, your text will be garbled. People who
prefer braille will still have to use either a braille notetaker or a
braille display to read and write braille with an Apple device.
I not only object to touch screens, I also object to using complicated
Apple and Android devices.
If you like your I device, that's fine, but don't force me to buy one.
