Has the Taverna team considered kinda altering its standard response
to questions like this, so to build an open source community? What I
mean is that if I see a response that says "It's coming in 2.x" then I
think, ok I guess I'll wait for it (while gradually becoming more
disillusioned). I felt that a lot in the wait for T2 itself.

OTOH, if I see a response that says, "hey, great idea, I think one
would have to make some changes to the Foo class <link to SVN>" then
maybe, just maybe, I'll roll up my sleeves and have a bash at it. A
little hand-holding through the code sometimes goes a long way (on
taverna-hackers, of course!). No guarantees, of course, but that's
open source for you.

Whether the project accepted such a patch would be a different
question, of course, and that discussion is always easier once the
code in hand.

But FWIW, my point is that roadmaps are sometimes counter-intuitively
demotivating to a community, if you are looking for contribution...

I'm not following taverna-hackers so perhaps I'm speaking out of turn
here, just a thought :)

Cheers,
James
