Ian, thank for your help. This much I understand. (1) The number in
parentheses is related to subfolders. (2) Bold indicates unread
messages.

In this case, the (1) is not bold. But I have no idea where the
subfolder is. It does not appear in my folder tree.

Well, I have only two virtual folders: Recent and Flagged. Neither of
those has exactly 1 message in it.

What would the "etc." be?
