Goncalo, what is interesting here is that though there are different
views about what should be possible when running the uninstall script
for TB, everyone is agreeing - directly or indirectly - that the TB
uninstall script is faulty.

Those who think that you should be able to uninstall data directories
when running the uninstall script (either with or without being
prompted for a password) are surprised to find that the instruction to
uninstall data directories presented as an option of the uninstall
script is ignored.

Those who think that you should not be able to uninstall data
directories when running the uninstall script would disapprove of the
uninstall script's providing such an option, regardless of whether the
script actually honors that option.

So, in the end, it seems that everyone concurs that the script is
broken and should be fixed or changed.
