I made a "typo" by analogy to msgview.def. I closed TB!. Renamed mfinder.def to oldmfinder.def. Closed the directory and relaunched TB! The unwanted box in the middle of the message list is still there. (I've gone back and renamed mfinder.def, taking off the "old" that I'd added to the name in order to test.) All the .def files in TB!'s main directory say they were last modified in March or April of 2005. mfinder.def was last modified on April 4, 2005. So I think these modifications are RitLabs work on the various betas it released last spring and have nothing to do with my current problem. It's a puzzle. I'm going to try to see if Add/Remove brings up the msi installation window and try a Repair. I wish I knew what I have done to cause that little box, though. :( -- Best regards, Mary The Bat 3.70.07 "Qigong" (Beta) on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.70.07 "Qigong" | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
