Here's the thing. There are several interface inconsistencies which
are trivial and which IMO as a commercial software developer,
should be addressed.

1) Why is there no 'Delete All' option when you click on the
attachment tab in the viewer page? If there are several attachments
and you want to delete them, you have to repeat the 'Delete' action
numerous times. God help you if some relative decides to send you a
ton of pictures of their new baby voted most likely to be the next
anti-Christ. That means in order to delete 24 pictures of the next
anti-Christ, you have to do a total of (24*3) clicks. That, to me, is
patently unacceptable.

2) What is the point of having the option to delete the 'message.html'
file, if its not going to be deleted but remains in the option as if
the delete request was ignored, even though you already answered 'yes'
to the delete prompt?

3) In threaded view, why is there no option (not even in the
right-click menu) to expand or collapse a thread? I have discussion
threads going back several months. If someone replies, I have to troll
through many - many - many - many trees (of the same thread due to
discussion branching) to get to the current 'unread' message or a
particular message that I'm looking for. Sure if you're looking for
unread messages, you can use the 'Unread' view to see a new incoming
message, but thats not the point.

4) After importing a batch of emails from another program (e.g. TB),
why is the 'received' date imported incorrectly? e.g. I recently
switched from TB to TB! and imported a ton of emails going back many
years. So now, I have - for e.g. - a folder with emails with received
dates of 2007 with creation dates of far back as 1996 but filtered
in the [threaded] view of 'Today' or 'Last Week' Thats just ridiculous.

I was advised to just use a special view to sort them out. That hasn't
worked at all, no matter what I try. So, if there is a way to fix
this, what am I missing? See attached shot.

I just tried it again by importing one of my archived TB folders.
After the import, all the emails had a 'received' date of today.

5) In the 'Sorting Office/Filters' interface, when you create a filter
and complete it, the name of the filter is not saved (or updated)
unless you click elsewhere in the dialog.

Also, given the number of crashes I've had in that interface since installing
TB! a few days ago, my guess is that something fishy is going on in there
and which needs careful looking at.

6) Why no option to have a replied to message reside in the current
folder of the parent? Due to the fact that - as a developer - I have
several developer threads going on, threaded views are invaluable (one
of the reasons I switched from EudoraPro to TB four yrs ago, apart from
the bloat and nonsensical licenses gauging where they make you pay - over
and over for bug fixes) to me. So when I reply to a thread, I expect the
reply to remain in the folder (ergo tree) where the parent is.

Now, I find that I have to create a [move] filter for this. I think its
cumbersome. Especially when you have many - many - developers and
other affiliates with whom you have lengthy (and thus threaded) email
discussions.

7) In the 'Tools/Import Messages' dialog, if you select an account,
you only get the option to use the import wizard. Which of course does
not allow the importing of other email formats such as Unix, EML etc.

I found out the hard way that if you want those other options enabled,
you have to first select a mailbox within the account. This is
(a) inconsistent (b) is not mentioned in the manual

This has been the topic of discussion on the forums as well in which some was
trying to convince me that I had the wrong mindset. Which of course is foolish
and without merit. IF that is the way the developers intended it, then it
_should_ be accurately documented. Its not and that almost cost you
guys a sale because I was just about ready to settle on Pocomail (I
evaluated it and TB!) if I couldn't import my emails properly since
they were in Unix format which is what TB uses.

8) The import of Unix mailboxes with folders is also inconsistent.

* You export a folder (e.g. 'media') containing subfolders (inbox,
outbox, sent)

* Since you know they are in a specific [Unix] format, you click on
a mailbox (e.g. Inbox) within an account and then use the "Tools/Import
Messages"
dialog.

Now you end up with a tree structure like this:

account_name
->Inbox
->media
->media/inbox
->media/outbox
->media/Sent

Thats all well and good and is what its supposed to do.

My question is, why couldn't this have been done at the 'account'
tree level? In which case, you'd end up with a tree that looks
_exactly_ as the above.

Without first selecting 'Inbox' within the 'account_name', you could
never import the 'media' email tree because the option to do so is disabled
and since the files are in a different format, you can't use the import wizard
because it expects only certain types of emails.

What is even curioser to me is that the import wizard has options for
Netscape but not Mozilla Thunderbird. How hard can it be to add that
option? Especially since the format used by Thunderbird is already a
known (Unix) format that is, as a matter of fact, a _standard_ format.

That said...

All in all, I think its a pretty solid email program but still needs
some polish and minor tweaks here and there.
