    Ditto. The free caret interface rocks. The *free* caret is just that.
*Free*. You may do what you want with it in the visible space. Now that's
power. Now that I have gotten used to it, I do feel a loss of this freedom

behavior associated with most other editors that everyone else is so used

    It all has to do with willingness to accept or give in to trying a new
way of doing things. He may not be accommodating or he may genuinely not
like it. Who knows but it's very difficult to assume which it is at the
end of a message eh Marck?

    Well a good clients first directive is to support achieving the tasks
it is designed to do in the proper accepted industry standard manner.
Another large part is convenience features to make the user comfortable. I
put both on even keel. They need equal attention. :-/
